the problem

  • the tile I originally installed in the bathroom are a cool-toned, grey, and blue mediterranean style. I don’t regret my choice, however the bathroom felt sterile and washed out when paired with the white walls and tile

the solution

  • I chose 8-10 paint swatches and taped them to the wall. over the course of a week, I narrowed my choices down to 2 colors; riviera maya and adobe horizon. I found riviera maya to be too orange and dark for my liking. I settled on the latter

  • adobe horizon by clark and kensington is described as a warm neutral with orange and undertones

vanity curtain

the problem

  • since I didn’t have time to build cabinet doors during the initial bathroom renovation, the vanity sat open, exposing all the clutter underneath. As a temporary fix, I turned a dress I never wore into a curtain

the solution

  • I cut it to size, pinned the hems, and sewed a pocket to slide it onto a tension rod. it hides the mess and adds a soft, personal touch until I get around to building the real doors

shelf

the problem

  • this bathroom was washed out and too cool-toned for my liking. the unstained shelf i built 1 year ago only added to the issue

the solution

  • using a stain I already had from a previous project, i stained the shelf a darker, walnut color
